Just a quick question to double check a step. When I disassembled my old top, it did not seem to be glued to the top of the front bow. It only looked like the bottom. I was hard to tell because it was so rusted. So do I need to spread/spray the glue over the entire top surface of the bow?
Thanks,
Jon

I If your align the seam correctly the bottom is fine. All of my tops as I remember were not glued down on the top of the bow.

Re: '77 convertible top installation
Thanks, I went ahead and left the bow alone. Seemed like it would be a pain to manage that size of a surface area with the glue. I did get the top mostly installed and it's not going too badly. Just a few odds and ends like riveting and the cables.
Learned that the spray can adhesive is awesome, but a real pain to keep from getting all over the place. I will definitely go with a brush product if there ever is a next time. What I did in the end was spray onto a piece of cardboard and used a small paint brush to apply the adhesive.

I've had no luck with the spray adhesives. They fail within a year. Just FYI.

3m yellow weatherstrip adhesive, best ever. do not use it on the top of the front bow though,
