Car is in the shop for poor fuel mileage. To this point i have discovered that the distributor advance was not working and the choke was broken, and there was a vacuum leak in the hoses going to the intake manifold.
first, i dissasembled the carb, there was quite a pile of trash in the float chamber
the center section is warped .025, this is caused by over tightening the mounting bolts
after taking apart the carb, i discovered that the choke has broken, the 1 piece sticking out should be 2, the bimetal spring goes between t he 2 parts. i should be able to dig one up though

honestly the easiest fix is very simple. a flat surface and sandpaper.

carb back together today, distributor back together today. ill pick up some vac hose and a new brake booster hose too. lots of vac leaks. i did also find something interesting when i was putting the carb back together. (it pays to be detail oriented) the electric idle stop valve , someone has cut a slot into the jet causing a bypass. im assuming that it was from the electrical part not working, but i replaced the whole thing anyway
