Need help on this one. Installing the internal door latch mechanism. This connects to the door handle via a short threaded rod and 2 plastic "pivot". all of mine are old and brittle and cannot be reinstalled without braking. None of the vendors even list these parts. I cant even think of how to fabricate one (how do you do the ball connection). Anyone have any ideas. How about a modern car the uses the same mechanism. HELP!

Are these the same for all years? Reason I ask is that before I scraped the last 76 parts car I pretty much took everything off of it. If it didn't sell them or throw them away I may still have them, of course where they are is another story. I'll take a look and see what I can find. Not sure if any of the local wrecking yards would have any, and even if they did the ones they have may look like what you already have.

they appear to be the same for all the years. The issue is are they all as brittle as mine. If so, then they will just break when i try to install them. I think i've figured out a way to make them if i get that desperate.

I've tried a couple of things with varying degrees of success. Have a fleet of parts cars of the same era to replace all the ends that I've broken.... not overly practical and ended up sending two to the crusher..
I've heated them up and installed. Also I used a glob of vaseline or a grease of some sort to help "POP" back in to the socket. I haven't broken one in a while now

I have two good ones that are still white and pliable. $2 for shipping + whatever you think is fair. I can also machine some from UHMW,derlin, or nylon, but they will be a bit more $$.

Thanks for looking, John. I went thru my stuff and the early style handles are different and don't use these pieces. Matt, I will be happy to take the 2 you have and i will see if i can source 2 more from someone else.

Csaba said they got some new one in. Not listed in their catalog. So I ordered 6 of them so i will have a couple of spares.
