fuel pump swap

hi,
I am restoring a 1980 fiat spider pininfarina 2000 fi. fuel pumps shot and iv been trying to find one to buy. iv found a couple but they cost 4 times the price of a universal fuel pump. If the universal pump fit has the right PSI and GPM's are they acceptable or am i better of with the fiat specific pump. Also does anybody know the PSI and GPM specifications? any advice helps. thank you

You can get a no name brand (Master Fuel Pump), generic at Autozone, ask for one for a Fiat Spider. they run about $70

Something sticks in my mind that the pressure's around 32 psi when measured after the pressure regulator (between the
regulator on the fuel rail and the injectors). Hopefully someone can confirm this.

In my FI manual I have 36 +/0 3 psi with the pressure regulator disconnected, 28 psi with the pressure regulator connected. I hate to say it but the BOSCH pump is really integral to the system; hard to find a worthy replacement.

I have had a after market pump from NAPA in mine for 2 years and 12000 miles with no problem. I paid $45.00. They had 4 to choose from $30 to $90.
