Even bikers fall in line behind Spiders

Post by Gunsmith »

My wife works with Autistic children and a fund raiser for Autism Speaks consisting of a motorcycle run from various places to a concert by "The Guess Who" was held a couple of weeks ago. Having my daughter that weekend made doing the run on a motorcycle with three people not sound very smart even to me. So I felt this was a great time to run the Fiat. When we showed up at the Harley dealership the fellow bikers said "I guess we should just follow the cool red Italian sports car to the event" I couldn't agree more. For those of you who don't ride bikes in most cases all four wheel vehicles follow at the end of the bikes. So being asked to lead the group is actually quite the honor. So of course we humbly agreed. Hopefully you can see the pictures I tried to attach.

Thanks! She is an amazing women along with my daughter! Her ability to reach special needs people must help her a great deal with me. Why do good women hook up with idiots anyways? I have been trying to load an avatar to my signature but can't quite figure it out. I am also trying to figure out how to just load the image on my post instaed of the just the link. My wife and daughter love the Fiat even with it's little hick ups here and there. We have had an old Rover for years so they are kind of used to it I guess.

i frequently wonder the same thing. I think it is because they get bored, and need a hobby. Kinda like Fiating in a way.

I think it must be like when we continually work on our cars thinking that one day we will have all of the bugs worked out and they will run trouble free. It must be a similar obsession with our wives.

Too much incorrect information from me forced me to delete this post. Mike would call it "old timers disease".

Gunsmith, I checked your pic for the avatar and the file is too large. It can only be 6kb max. Can you resize it?

Very cool! It always amazes me when I go to the Harley dealership to pick up parts for Ron. The guys all seem to gather around my Fiat, the same way people seem to gather around a nice Harley. What an honor to lead the parade.

Very cool.
I work for a major Canadian bank and every year we participate in ''the run for the cure'' to raise money for breast cancer research.
My department has organised a ''Prance for the cure'' for two consecutive years in a row. We basicaly asked the Luigi Ferrari club of Quebec to sponsor us. About 30 Ferraris of all vintages show up and park in a blocked of portion of a mall parking lot. People can come admire the cars and pay 50 dollars to pick a number out of a hat. This number is matched up with one of the ferraris and the owner will take the person on a 20 minute ride around town and on the highway.
We also gather corporate sponsors who pay us 500 dollars to have their company name and logo put on the upper part of the windshield. In that one day we raised close to 20,000 dollars including the corporate sponsorships, rides, rafle and general donations.
Everyone has a realy good time and the Luigi Ferrari Club of Quebec has been realy generous with us. I mean giving rides to total strangers in cars worth between 50-300k is pretty generous. They also do similar events for several fundraisers for childrens diseases.

Its realy great the the biker guys had so much respect for your Fiat. I found that bikers are generaly very respectfull of anything mechanical and not mainstream, I have gotten thumbs up from hard core Harley guys and from Ducati riders as well.

The number out of the hat thing is just too cool. I wonder if anyone would pay $50 to ride in my fiat....Probably not, probably not even if it was for a good cause.

Danno, you could do a reverse auction; charging people $500 not to have to ride in your car

How about a $50 reward for the right answer put into the hat for what is wrong with our cars at any given time?

I pulled into a gas station behind a bunch of bikers in my Fiat the other day, needless to say they were more interested in my car than all their motorcycles hehe.
