Tie Down Hook

Post by davery »

Both of my interior hooks for the tie downs on my rear quarter panels have ripped through the plastic. On one side the hole is about 1.5 inches, the other side it is about .5 inch. The hooks are lost. Any ideas how to connect the tie down? I have looked online at a couple of places for rear quarters, but they do not seem to come with the hook. Was this same on all years? Can these panels be repaired? Thanks!

My imediate knee-jerk fix would be to "pop-rivet" a piece of plastic (thicker)behind what you see and then perhaps add a hook onto that. A coat of vinyl paint might cover it up, otherwise a new interior 1/4 panel might be in order. Would or does the break show when the boot is on??

That looks like them. Do your rear quarters come with these? How about the snap for the boot? Do they have the grommet for the boot hook? I can't really see in the pic.

Now the question is whether I try and repair or replace.

The rear quarter panels are bare, all hardware has to be transferred from the old ones.
