83 spider hazard switch removal. How?

Hello,
I just got an 83 Spider and I need to change the harzard switch as it is defective and prevents my blinkers form working. I managed to get the blinkers operational by bypassing the hazard switch but I hope it will only be a temporary measure.

Now, how do I remove the darn switch so I can either fix it or replace it?

I tried everything I could think of but something obviously eludes me.

You have to push it from the back and the switch should just pop out. I think you can get your hand in from under the glovebox or remove the glove box insert. Don't try and pry on the bezel for the switches/lights. It is held tight by the switches.

you should have the round hazard switch, which is held in with a large plastic nut on the backside.
