Hi guys,
I just was given a 1980 fiat spider FI 2000 that hasn't been started in a couple of years. It was garage kept with a dry fuel tank and overall is in great condition. I changed all the fluids, put in a new battery, and added some marvel mystery oil into the spark plug holes and I'm now trying to start it up . First time trying the starter was seized, banged on it abit and it freed up like a champ. Now it will turn over, but wont fire, from what i can tell its not getting fuel. Before i start tearing into the fuel filter and fuel pump is there anything to do/check? Any advice is much appreciated.
thanks
turns over, no fuel.
Re: turns over, no fuel.
the fuel pump may be seized due to fuel varnish. An empty tank is a bad thing, since they usually will rust when left like that
Re: turns over, no fuel.
Thank you, that makes sense. With that said is recommended to swap the fuel pump or is it possible to get it freed up?
