Welcome back Dan. I'm new since you were here, but you'll get to know me because I'm totally addicted to the forum.
Good luck in your search.

Ideally I'm looking for a 1983 (the year I graduated HS) but would be up to anything in the 80's. I'm a father of 6 so price is an issue.
Thanks,
Dan

Hey Dan, father of 6 huh? No wonder you want a Sunday driver that will only handle two comfortably! I have only two and that's all I think I could handle. Are you adverse to buying one off Ebay? Some people are, but I've gotten two vehicles from there and both of them have been great. There are a few there now from the 80's, a couple are pretty reasonable if you haven't looked yet.

I do the Craigslist thing, missed out on a fair looking '82 down in Philli before Christmas. The woman thought I was a stocker or something, offered her $50 to hold it till I could get down to see it and she thought I was nuts. It was a daily driver red/tan for $1500. Oh well...

That's too bad man. An '82 red with tan is a very nice car.

But then I'm kinda prejudiced. :D

not many owners use their Spider for off-roading in the desert

This picture was taken about 1/4 mi. from the house. It's about 50 ft. off the main road. Turn around 180 deg. and you'd see actual civilization! (Off roading would get dust on my baby)
