Just installed a mild performance intake cam from Midwest Bayless. Some of the other notable vendors require you to purchase an intake and exhaust cam jointly and while there are reportedly modest gains from swapping out the exhaust cam not enough to make it worth the cost so I went with the intake change. The change is worth the performance increase.
There is a noticeable change throughout the RPM'S but a significant change in power when in 5th gear. Previously any acceleration in 5th required a downshift but now a little gas gets much more go. Running up to 5K rpm's is a lot of fun and there is plenty beyond that as well. The car seems happier and more willing to respond so if you are looking for something more than a Saturday afternoon stroll it is a great change. So now I have to decide, new pistons and head shave.....? psg

Re: New Cam
Something I may be interested in soon. I think Im pulling out the questionable what ever 1.8 block with the 2.0 head and install one of the spare 1.8 and install the FI on that instead. Adding a cam at that time would be great. Also need to change the trans as 4th is out so better to do it together I figure.

Re: New Cam
It is a carb and I upgraded the carb from the original but can't recall which one. If it would help when I get home tonight I will send you the model number. psg
