Mixing Engine Oil Weights

I really needed to top off my oil today after tightening a leaking oil pan. My 124 usually gets Castrol GTX 10W-40 but all I had on hand was Castrol GTX 5W-30. Was that a bad idea?

Just my personal opinion and by no means am I an oil expert but it is better to have a mix in than no oil at all, just do a full oil change sooner rather than later......

Should be fine, especially since they are the same brand, (same additives etc).

mix and blend to your hearts' delight, the only thing that changes is the viscosity when you mix different weights

So running Castrol GTX 8.75W- 37.5 is okay.
