1984 Pininfarina

Post by Forestpark »

I just joined. Thought I'd check in and say hi. I am restoring my wife's 1984 Pininfarina. I'm having a few problems figuring some of this wiring stuff out. I'll be bringing that up later on, but right now I sure am glad there are people like all of you out there.--Joe

Welcome Joe! Don't feel like the Lone Ranger having to figure out wiring snafues. Hopefully it won't be as bad as some we've heard about. That's whats great about this forum, somebody has had whatever issue each of us runs into and is ready to share that knowledge. How long have you had the '84?
Good luck on your project.

Hi Ron,
Thanks for the welcome. My wife bought it in LA around 1987. Someone creamed out her right quarter panel around 1991. It has been sitting since. I started working on it last year. Had the panel fixed. Had the seats reupholstered. I'm working on the interior right now. Will be stripping the chrome and bumpers off for painting fairly soon. The engine runs very smooth, but I'm still trying to figure out why the fuel pump quit working. I have to jumper it now. Looking for that elusive fuse holder under the dash. Will be ordering a top. Car was plumbed for A/C but someone took the compressor and mounting bracked. Got a compressor but can't find a bracket. But the electrical feed to the A/C relays shorts out, so I"m not going to mess with that right now. And speaking of messes. Mice got into the car and fill it with mouse urine. What a smell and what a job to get rid of the smell. Pressure washer, baking soda, ammonia, and gasoline. The commercial urine eliminator didn't do what it claimed. It just made sweet smelling mouse pee. Well I'm on my way down to the shop to try and fined the elusive, dangling fuel pump fuse holder. Once again, thanks for the welcome.--Joe

Welcome to the site. Hope you have a wiring diagram. I use mine so much I had it enlarged so I could actually read it.
To post pics, you'll need to load them to a site like Photobucket then click on the "Img" button and paste the URL between the brackets.

Can't yet figure out how to send the pix from photobucket to this forum. Keeps saying "errors with submission." I copied the link from this page and pasted it in the send album window of the photobucket site, but it doesn't want to cooperate; so since a couple of you asked for pictures, I started with these. hopefully this will work--Joe

Mr. Pope,

You have a great sense of humor. Got a good laugh on your post on my mouse problems. Thanks. A couple of people have explained how to post the pix from photobucket, but I just get the html code in the img box with no pix. How did you get the pix to show? --Joe

Do a post reply on this forum. A new page will come up with a cursor in a place to type in your response. Above the box are font codes. The ninth from the left is "Img".
Click that and it will put code in your response with a blinking cursor in the middle. Now copy the photobucket HTTP pic adress there at the blinking cursor.
Thats it. Do a new img for each photo
