Both were stock locations, RF fender on earlier cars, left rear fender on later Spiders.

Well update to the fact that the only box to arrived had some seals for the injectors which are the wrong size. FYI dont order the Beck Arnley 158-0021 kit as the outside diameter is too large. So I pulled of the rusty air cleaner top and painted it. Took some brake master nipples off the parts car and put them in the new master I found in the Fiat parts box. painted the coil braket and did some degreasing of the engine and trans.

Raining a bit here again today so we will see what tomorrow brings.

Sounds good.

Well I just got 2 boxes in with AR's order and my injectors. Injectors came with seals that are at least not too big. Lower seal outside diameter is a bit smaller than the Bosch ones but not sure if that is a problem. I may check my Saab customer tomorrow and see what he has that may compare to the old ones. Off to the store as I need more paint to finish the lower intake and start pre assembly tonight.

Looks great!
Is that rattle can paint? Clear coat?
I Like the fuel rail.

Just a note though.. I found that I have to think ahead as to the location of the screws on the clamps in case I have to tighten them or want to pull an injector without pulling the whole rail.

SLO.....please slow down and post more pictures and details of the FI manifold and plenum work.

Replacing all my fuel lines is on my to-do list. Are you using the 8mm line from AR? I saw where Vicks has different injectors...I wish some one would chime in that has bought them. Is it worth swapping them while everything is out?

If I read your posts correctly, you suggest pulling the entire assembly and working on the fuel rail, injectors, etc on a work bench. I don't have any leaks and its running well but the lines do show their age.

No use the 7.5mm line is the correct size for the injectors.

Spent about a half hour on a reply then it vanished.

In short I recommend it only because it helps me in several ways.

Change the coolant
Change the motor mounts same time
Easier to access master cylinder for change
Clean the muck and paint that side of the engine
Only 7 more bolts and saves about half hour of time.
Way easier to install new hoses on Rail.

I installed FI Rail to intake first and cut the hoses to match so I wasn't fighting to mount the rail back on. Steps would be to mount the injectors first. Install hose that is longer than needed on injectors with clamps. I eyeballed the length needed to have hose seat to top of rail barb and cut with new razor blade. make sure your other clamp for rail is on the hose and push on and clamp. You want the rail to sit horizontal as much as possible so your lines will all be pretty even.

Now I got to go work :D

I may add that using a razor blade to cut off the old hose is not good if you just go straight down like normal. I was shown by an old MBZ and aircraft mechanic that it damages the barbs and could case weapage. He pointed out my mistake  So I had to do a bit of filing and sanding on those barbs to be safe.

He suggest to use side cutters and snip off the hose towards the base away from the barbs. I had already done the damage though. I did use dike to cut back the metal end rings the factor had on the injector end and use side cutters to some success. I would also just try to use a heat gun to heat up the hoses and see if that would help.

how ever you do it try not to score the barbs up when taking the old hoses off.

Use the Volvo mounts-they are soft, the aftermarket FIAT mounts are hard as rock. BTW the early style aftermarket mounts can come with really long studs that make them hard to install and aren't necessary trim them before install if you use them, the late model style often come with a differetn thread pitch than original which means after you struggle to install the originals you realise a trip to the hardware store is necessary. the volvo mounts are a bit shorter so use body mount fender washers to shim to correct height to clear the crossmemeber and make sure it's enough to allow for some settling. I've waved a plumbers propane bottle with a low setting (no flame) when the engine is running to check the seal. So far so good to date :)
