My Cat is a Buzzing

Post by srwilson »

Anyone come up with a good way to keep the catalytic converter spring from buzzing?

I've tried two different springs and no luck so far. I thought about cutting a length of rubber hose and sliding the spring inside, but I'm sure it would melt and stink to high heaven.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

@ Bob, yeah I removed the spring and the noise went away. I believe the spring is hitting the rocker panel. I tried to bend the tab down but was afraid to move it too much and possibly break the wield.

Thanks for the suggestions. I like the plugs wire idea, creative and green  I was thinking about heat shrink tubing too. If I get it fixed ill let you know.

you could make a "test" tube that way you can put the cat back anytime you need to do so.
