The Case of The Missing Resonator

Post by RRoller123 »

Had an exhaust leak so I decided to finally get it repaired, and discovered that a PO had removed the Resonator and patched in a piece of pipe, which itself rotted out and was all contorted and banged up. (I am reminded of Curly in the bathroom connecting pieces of pipe together to stop the water).

Here is the old culprit mid section, missing a Resonator!

So cut out the old, from the Cat Con back:

And install the new:

The new stock mid and rear sections (Ansa) from Auto Ricambi fit perfectly. Thanks Csaba and Ramzi! So I now have a relatively good leftover rear section, that is useable if someone wants to work around the small connection section that is banged up. Here are some pictures:

FREE if you come get it in Foxboro, MA.:

You can get it out of my car's trunk at Congdon's Auto Center (on the Foxboro Common) where my Spider is presently stored, if I am not available. I will call Gary tomorrow and tell him that you are coming by some time. He has the key. Glad to have it find a home! No sense wasting what is a refurbishable part. Congdon's # is (508) 543-5410. Call ahead. They close at 5:00 but he is frequently there later.

I stopped by there this morning and took it out of the trunk and put it on the floor just under the back of the car. I told Gary you would be by some time to pick it up.
