I have totally disassembled the front end ( took plenty of pictures and kinda glad I did. Decided to refurbish the front end after crawling underneath the car and inspecting everything. Found the following bad: both upper ball joints, lower ball joint drivers side ( the nut holding it in place was only tightened halfway ), one inner tie rod bad and one outer bad.
Going to degrease all, sandblast what I can and paint all that I can.
Now on to the question: When inspecting the shields on the both sides, I found them to be bent ( sorry, but don"t have pictures yet). Is there a reason for this ? It only seems to be a 30 deg bend. Not sure why though. I was going to straighten but figured I wouls ask before I did.
Thank for any insight.

Re: Front Brake Question
both my brake shields are bent as well however, I believe that was the way they were designed
this pic shows the groove/bend in the middle of the shield
Either way I would leave them as is

Re: Front Brake Question
The bend is to help direct air to cool the discs.
