I think it's probably a mistake. I bet the official officers reports said "BTM: 1967 Fiat" and BTM stands for "Body Type Model". somewhere along the line it got turned into 1967 Fiat BTM.

Just a guess. I have no clue, but I'm sticking with it until someone comes up with something better.

1967 Fiat BTM?

Post by CHMMX »

This is an article from http://www.leftlanenews.com
Jerry Seinfeld, one of the country's most beloved comedians, was involved in a crash Saturday night when the brakes on his 1967 Fiat failed. Seinfeld, 53, was driving through New York City when the brakes on the car suddenly stopped working. Seinfeld swerved to avoid the congested Montauk Highway, resulting in the car flipping over and landing just short of the intersection.

The police credited Seinfeld for his quick actions, which probably prevented a more serious accident.

Amazingly enough, Seinfeld emerged from the accident unharmed and did not even require medical attention.

But in true Seinfeld fashion, the comedian made slight of the serious crash in an interview with the New York Post: "Because I know there are kids out there, I want to make sure they all know that driving without braking is not something I recommend, unless you have professional clown training or a comedy background, as I do. It is not something I plan to make a habit of."

*Of note, the CBS article claims that Seinfeld was driving a 1967 Fiat BTM, however, Fiat produced no such model in 1967. We'll keep researching so check back to find out exactly which car Seinfeld flipped.

What his car have been?

Yeah I found another website thats was wondering exactly what the car looked like, they concluded that since there were only two sport coupes that Fiat made in 1967, the Fiat 124 Coupe and the Dino Coupe that Seinfeld must have the Dino

I realy like that name, Dino, kinda sounds like angels wispering lol

OkOkok before any of you comment I have heard every possible Flintsones joke immaginable.

At least we know the Dino Coupe was solid, he flipped it and left without any injury, well so what if the breakes failed.

Yeah ''the brakes failed''.I'm surprised he didnt use the old ''throttle stuck'' defense. Now he has gone from bad comedian to legendary driver in one day!!! I saw my first Dino at a car show last year. How good would that motor look in my Spider?

Yeah its a sweet motor. The dino Spider is gorgeous, its getting to be in the Ferrari 308 price range.

Did you realy think Jerry was a bad comedian, he had one of the greatest sitcoms of all time, mind you I tuned in for Kramer and George, but Jerry wrote allot of the material.

Has anyone ever seen a modernized Fiat 124 Spider, you know in the style of Overhaulin. I have seen allot of frankenstine Spiders online, you know the ones. But what about someone keeping the classic lines, popping in a Lancia Delta Integrale Evolozione engine, and a modernised interior that pays homage to the origional. It would also take a set of rims that suited the car (no spinners).

2 Streets away from me there is the exotic car dealer who has a few Integrale Evos in his inventory along with many many ferraris and lambos. I think in Canada you can import any car older than 15 years old.

What would a fair price be for an authentic low milage Lancia Delta Evo?

I'd like to pick up one of these Dino spiders but they seem to be out of price range or they're beat up somehow.

One just got sold last month here on Amelia Island S.C., sold for 30k... looked nice in the photos... I have been checking the European boards but I know I won't find one for less than 25k... worth the investment... has anyone seen Hemmings Motor news lately.. there are Fiat spiders going for 17,000 (1982) down to 8000 for a cool looking 1974....

Wonder if Jerry's gonna restore his Dino... probably alot of car ambulance chasers following that Dino... who cares about Jerry... save the Dino!

If I were Jerry, I'd be sick about crashing the car if it was a Dino. On a side note, I was listening to the local radio station this morning and this came up in the news. One of the idiots on the station said "you know what Fiat stands for, right? Fix it again Tony." It wouldn't be so bad if he said it once, but every time one of the personalities said Fiat, he piped in with this lame joke. These cars will never shake this phrase.

Too bad Fiats have to have this stigma...

I owned a 124 coupe and it was the best car I had, never had problems till someone wrecked into my side... then I had a 124 spider and it was great... no problems also got into a wreck, most of these cars had no different a problem compared to cars of the time Japanese or European imports, I had an Audi Fox and that car always had problems, I also owned two 280z's and they too had problems, but not engine wise, they were solid.

The problem with Fiats were the 128, 131's, these cars were notorious for having problems and I guess this is where the phrase 'fix it again Tony' comes from...

I hope Jerry get's his car fixed and gives Fiat a good name again, brakes can fail on any car... too bad it happened to his Dino.
