Rough idle & EGR

Post by srwilson »

I think I've found the source of my rough idle. I unplugged the EGR vacuum line, plugged the line and the idle smoothed up quite a bit. I'm thinking of leaving it that way. Any drawback I should be aware of (beside emissions)?

Nope. Check for other vacuum leaks.

egr was also used to diminish detonation, so make sure it doesn't ping under cruise conditions

Didn't know that. I'll certainly listen for it. Thanks!
