These "conversions" always interest me. Rarely does the project get completed. With the amount of engineering and fabrication involved, costs, time etc. it would be quicker, cheaper and easier to modify the old 8V. 150hp out of the old lump is not too hard to achieve, and 200 with bucket loads of torque is not an unreasonable option by bolting a hair dryer on the side.

Matt Brannon had one of those cars at FFO last year.It is pretty awesome.The car is a rocket.The X were always underpowered...not with that motor!

I think the Motus V4 would be cool in a Spider. Lighter, shorter, and twice the power of the Fiat motor.

Not to mention that the classic Fiat motors (DOHC or SOHC) sound hard as nails when they are really twisting.

what about the torque??? A spider weighs a lot more that a motorcycle.

It's also a pushrod OHV, lower tech than the Fiat lump, the only thing high tech is the injection.
