Hey Spider fans, I'm a new member to this forum and I just stopped in to say what's up! WHAT'S UP?
I own a 1972 124 Spider Sport, my third Spider in the last 25 years. My 1st was a 71, then a 79, and now the 72. I'm in love with it again, they're so much fun to drive and I got lucky and found an 80% restored ride. Currently I'm experiencing a knocking sound in the #1 cylinder in the valve area on the exhaust side. I'm hoping one of you have some info on what the possible cause might be. I know I can take it to a mechanic, so I need someone who may have experienced the same thing to help me out. I'm awaiting your responses. . .
Valve noise
Re: Valve noise
might have debris in the cylinder, flat cam lobe, loose valve clearance, could be an exhaust leak. Hard to diagnose a noise when you can't hear it
