Fiat 124 engine

Post by harrinad »

I recently took apart a 1972 Fiat Spider 124 and it looks like the engine has been swapped. I am reasonably sure that it is an 1800 but I'm not sure how to tell what year it is. My concern is I think it may be out of a 1974 and the two engines require different parts for the rebuild. Can anybody help me figure this out? Is there a part number or something I can chase?

Mira has a good chart on this, too. I was just using it the other day to ID the engine in my 128:

yes, but with a few minor modifications you can get a whole lot more out of it.
