I have given it some thought.I drove the Abarth and ran against them at VIR track day.I dont know where you could source one,but they are a running little devil!

I've got a source. I can get an Abarth engine & ECU as a take out / with charge air coolers. The weak link looks like the transmission, but I might consider (gasp) a Miata box if it will fit. Going to look at a '74 this weekend. I really need a good doner = blown engine, rust free, been parked . . . . any tips?

with a few tweaks, 200hp is realistic so why not?

I agree...much more interesting swap then a Miata or other engines that have been done.I asked Tim Kuniskis(prez. of Fiat N.A.) ,about a rear wheel drive 2 seat sports car using the Multi-air engine, at the past Fiat Freakout. He properly danced around without giving a answer.Seems like a natural to me.

Now that is what I would like to see, I would love to see if Fiat were able to redo a design like the 124 spider (a retro version may be interesting) or something that looks great now and will look great in 20 years with the same characteristics as the spider. (maybe not the old electrics :? )
Cheers David

David, I think that is what we all want to see. They certainly have the technology to produce a real winner.

as much as I love the idea of a Fiat engine in a Fiat car, I think I'd go this route:
