Shop Manuals

Post by profcucchi »

Which manual is the better one? Haynes, Chilton, other?

Outside of purchasing a shop manual, has anyone had any luck with the online PDF versions?

Thanks.

I would get a copy of the above manual to compliment your others. It is very good. Some of the pictures tend to me dark, but the procedures are well written.

I own the one that Divers suggests in the previous reply.

It has proven to be very valuable and pretty comprehensive.

I agree several manuals are better. Relative to the on-line .pdf version - I found the pictures were largely illegible. Ended up purchasing a paper copy and find it is now useable (and the most comprehensive manual).

Thanks guys.

I have a competent mechanic, but would like to be able to handle the small stuff.

The spidermanual is thick and with shipping comes to a hefty $76. But worth every penny, right?

It was worth it to me.

It's saved me time and time again.

It also appears to be the source material for a lot of the writeups in the other books.

I purchased a Fiat original shop manual (loose leaf in 3 ring binder) on ebay for $0.52 us plus $15.00 shipping. Then bought a PDF with a duplicate of the paper manual plus it had the wiring diagrams in it for about $5.00 plus shipping.
