Noid light question

As part of my troublshooting I have a question on noid light.

When I connect my noid light to the cold start valve it lights up very bright. When I hook up to one of the 4 injectors, the light is very dim. I see by the schematics that the cold start and injectors do not share grounds. I have checked the different grounds and both ohm out good. I am swapping the dual relay assuming the ground connection internally on line 88z is not as good as it should be in an operational mode.

Anyone know why the light intensity is different?

I understand pulsing, but why is intensity if different? Are you saying that the noid light cannot "respond" (illuminate) fast enough to keep up with the pulsing? The flicker rate of the injector pulse did not seem all that fast. I was going to hook my O'scope up and look at the pulses for voltage.

noid light will be dim, that is correct, the injectors work on 5v and the cold start valve on 12v

well...that's not good. I measured 12v at the connector for injector #1 (both pins).

the injectors are supplied 12v from the dual relay

So...I assume its ok to have 12v on each pin cause the computer is going to ground one leg (pulses)?

If it is an incandescent bulb then it may be slow to respond and the fluctuations in power will certainly keep it dimmer than a continuous 12v. What's important is your getting 12v, not what a lightbulb is doing. I'd say you can move on from there unless you're just interested in pulse-widths and using an oscope.
