New Member in Oregon, This is my first Fiat, its a 1974 Sport Spider, in really good shape but really funky tires and wheels. can someone tell me what size rims and tires fit and can I buy them after market or not. Thanks, its nice to know there are other Fiats out there, living in Oregon feels kind of isolated at times. Batman, Medford, Oregon

Re: New Member, new owner
Welcome to the forum batman. Being a '74, your car probably has 13" rims and there are a good number of sources for replacements, new or used. A couple of our regularly used vendors dismantle and sell parts from these cars. Our moderator, Mark Allison, Bruce (Bruce's parts bin) and others as a source for used wheels. Tires get discussed pretty often. Do a search on it here and you'll find plenty of opinions based on what people think look good size wise, and what kind of driving is done.
Being in Oregon you have a fun event coming up. Ventura Ace knows more about it than me, but it's a camping trip/get- together.
Post some pictures of your new obsession, we all enjoy seeing each others cars.

welcome!
as Ron wrote, the oem wheels were 13" x 5.5 on your car. It's very difficult to find new wheels in the 4 x 98mm bolt pattern. International Auto Parts lists a few different styles in 13 x 6. There are lots of used alloy wheels on the market. Some owners are going to a larger wheel for a more modern look, either 15 x 7, 16 x7 and even 17x 7.
As for tires for 13" wheels, 185 x 60 x13 or 195 x 60 x 13 fit pretty well and are readily available

Mark,
I've seen the adapter that take you form 4 x 98mm to 4 x 100mm. This would allow for a slew of more rim choices. Have you heard anything about them?

yes, I've heard of them. I'm not really in favor of them. First, they space the wheel out about 3/4" which places more load on the outside wheel bearing, and second, there isn't that much material that supports the lug bolts. They need to be checked for tightness on a regular basis also
