looking for a mechanic in Dallas and LA

Post by bambinadoro »

Hello all-
After much campaigning, I'm the proud owner of a 78 spider. Now I'm looking for a mechanic who is reliable and as inexpensive as possible in Dallas and in LA. If anyone could refer me to someone they know and trust, I would really appreciate it. The engine needs to be reassembled in Dallas before I can drive it to LA, where I'll need someone else to do the maintainance. I'm just out of school and seriously strapped for cash (but not willing to give up my dreamcar), so I'm asking the community of spiderphiles to help me out here. Thank you so much.
If there's anyone in LA who could teach me about my car, I would really love that, too. It was my uncle's car, and he took care of it himself until he passed away.

Mark's shop is a bit of a ways from hollywood/west side of LA, but he's been doing all the work on
my car. http://www.allisonsautomotive.com/

There are a few 'fiat guys' in LA proper that some of the other guys use regularly.

What's bringing you out to LA?

Thank you! I live in LA, but I've got to get the car from Dallas, where my uncle lived. He did a lot of work on it, so once the engine is reassembled, I'm going to drive it home. I'm going to look into the shops you recommended. Thanks, again.
