Head temp sensors

Post by Divers »

Just gotta ask....

How do the 2 temp sensors on the head actually seal? I thoughtmtheynshould have a metal gasket or something, but none where there when I removed them. I just installed them with some anti sieze...they don't seem to go in far enough to have a metal to metal seal? Also...could not find a torque value?

They are brass and threaded. Don't put teflon tape or anything on them that would prevent them from grounding. Screw them in until tight and they last 20-30 years. Unless your threads are mucked up they don't leak, and they usually seat without much issue.

Thanks....I coated with a copper based thread lube so grounding should not be an issue. Appreciate the info!
