Need help on this matter when I drive my car in third gear at 4000 rpm the car starts to stumble and shuts down no power at all or fuel , let up on gas shift down to 2nd gear and slowly work my way home . The engine has an electronic ignition which Mark had on e bay car idles ok but surges some times. As of today engine does not idle too well and rough, tried to set air/fuel mixture but no luck also idles very low. The car is a 1974 spider 124 with the 34 DMSA carb on a 1800 . Any one know what I should look for or just rebuild the carb.
Thanks
Nick

Sounds like fuel starvation. Fuel filters OK?

You need to test some things. "T" in a fuel pressure gauge with a long hose, attach gauge to windshield wiper. Now go for a drive and get it to act up. If fuel delivery OK, gauge will not drop. Let us know.
