actually i noticed the 25 amp fuse was blown. im guessing the fan never turned on. yeay!

Hi, If the only thing you fiddled with is the distributor, before it began running worse, than the solution should be there too. I'm guessing you put the magnet under the pickup back in upside down. Also if you noted the position of the distributor, you also must note the position of the rotor inside, under the dist. cap, for proper replacement. Digital cameras are great for this kind of stuff.
