A Huge Thank You to All

Post by sierraspider »

I just wanted to thank everyone who responded to my many posts. A a Fiat newbie I was a bit overwhelmed at first by the thought of restoring my new purchase, a sweet 82 with believe it or not minimal rust. First, the purchasing process was made a whole lot easier by the many bits of advice about what to look for and what to avoid. I took a gamble (bought it turning over, but not running)on the 82 because I got a great price. When I finally got it to run I was bummed because I thought it had a serious rod knock, meaning engine rebuild. After reading numerous posts, I figured out that the horrendous noise was the aux pulley out of alignment and after getting great tips on timing belt installation and pulley alignment, I finally got things lined up and voila, no more knock. I am truly grateful to all those that gave me advice on the forum (81 spidermatt,azruss,pluktv,4uall, and benjaminnsfiat) and also to the great folks at allison's automotive (mark, greg and mike). A sincere thanks to all and I look forward to at some point being able to contribute and help someone as I have been helped by this great forum.

Thanks

Dan
