Seat Belts

Post by spiderverde »

I know this has been beat like a dead horse and I've read almost all the posts.. Aside from one mention by Mbouse.. No one has really talked about the fact we have 2 retractors on each belt from the factory vs one only that I have seen for a 3 point belt..
Are you all saying that you've eliminated the retractors on the floor behind the seat..Or am I missing something..??
Thanks
Ray

My '80 Spider has only one. The belt is bolted to the floor behind the seat, and the retractor is behind the rear seat back. Is it possible that dual retractors is a Pininfarina thing (ie, post-1982)?

I have a 78 and one retractor on the floor behind the seat and one behind the rear seat back cushion
Seems like overkill but the question remains...

My 78 had the both the retractors. When I upgraded the belts I went to the single retractor behind the seat. The other end I bolted where the lower metal guide bolts just behind the seat. Hope this helps.
