Oil bath to engine
Oil bath to engine
While driving around town, I have no problems with oil deposits on my '82 spiders engine. Recentlyl however, I took a 550 mile round trip averaging 3500 to 4000 rpm. The engine ran totally sweet with no problems whatsoever, but when I stopped to gas up I found the right upper side of the engine slick with oil, and oil pooling in the sparkplug wells, primarily in the front 3. When I got home I checked the cam covers, and although not completely snug, they still had tension on them. My Triumphs had a spongy material sealing the stick to the tube (I know, that's not a recommendation). Could the stick be lifting up at sustained high rpms and causing oil to get spewed out? I lost about 1/4 quart per tank, and no. It doesn't burn any oil. Thanks for your help.
