floor padding RESOLVED
Re: floor padding
I am considering between EZ Cool and the StockInteriors product (http://www.stockinteriors.com/HeatSound.asp?Itemid=4783) I have seen referenced on here a few times, if anyone has direct comparisons.
I am a little worried about whether the StockInteriors one will hold on to moisture.
Living in Texas, battling the floor heat (as much as possible) is my biggest priority. Plus I think I will get enough "noise reduction" from the Protecto Wrap layer (thanks DocGraphics!) I put down.

Re: floor padding
I have a sample in hand of the EZ Cool and it appears to be closed cell foam, which won't absorb moisture. Not sure about the other stuff, but it looks from the picture and description like a fibrous material that may absorb moisture.

Re: floor padding
4uall, I noticed you got EZ Cool from another thread. How much did you end up needing? Was one 4x10 roll enough?

Sheesh, don't use the word accident!
Glad you found that BEFORE you did all the work on the floor.

Re: floor padding
You can use a combo of metal and rubber gas line after you get all the rust taken care of. Just make sure you use Fuel Injection Rated rubber line and really good hose clamps. There is a pretty good photo somewhere on this forum of a restoration that took this approach - you might want to challenge your search skills to find it. I believe IAP and others have complete replacement metal lines as well, but they can be a challenge to install without bending them.

Took the plunge solo and put in new gas lines. Special thanks to all on this forum. Confidence level is higher then when I started. Ran her through multiple cooling fan cycles and no leaks. Also installed nylon filter. Bought face shield makes a huge difference. Next project: this weekend POR15, heat/sound shield, new carpets, new alternator and hopefully lots of driving

Re: floor padding
Read all 89 posts as I prepare to cover my floor before carpeting. What I cannot find is how many square feet will be needed to do the floor, the hump, and under the back seat area. Very much want to buy Ezcool but their website is a bit 1990's....no pricing, order form, or anything useful to actually make a purchase. Apparently one has to request via email the opportunity to buy their products. I did. I hope they will let me!
