Original fuel pump needed when after-market unit being used?

Post by jerrylg2 »

Hello everyone:

Hopefully a simple question...

My 850 has recently been modified (previous owner) such that a really nice after-market (electric) fuel pump is being used now - and more safely (I think?) mounted away from the hot manifold area!

Question: the *original* fuel pump is still installed - only now the intake port and outflow port are simply connected with a short u-shaped hose. Is this pump still needed - should I remove it, or not?

Many thanks - a Fiat newbie, Jerry/Kentucky

there really isn't any reason to keep it installed. Simply make a block-off plate and seal it up
