Fuel pump noisy

Post by DaveFhlug »

Hi guys,

My fuel pump on my 1980 FI is noisy sometimes. Is this a sign of soon to be failure of the fuel pump?

when they start making noise it's a tell tell sign there on the way out, I replaced my FI pump a few years back
with a Autozone aftermarket replacement it was under a $90 I needed to make an adjustment to my mount
for it to fit. In the end i was happy and saved myself a decent amount of money compared to buying the
bosch FI fuel pump .

it may be noisy due to fuel starvation. Check the inlet hoses to it

Okay, I will check the inlet hoses and replace the fuel filter. Is the filter before or after the pump?

On FI cars the filter is after the pump as long as a PO has not add one before the pump also.

The thread is about FUEL Pumps. that is a WATER Pump !

The CORRECT Bosch unit IS very Expensive. There are a lot advertised that will do the job, but are not "as it left the factory, new"
