Don't know about that ( yes I do ) but try 2 & 1/2.

Anyway, I did look up the US Govt's rainfall website and it gave me that range from about nothing to 55".
And as he said it had "Sat in a FIELD" for 25 years, not "out in the desert", I assume he meant some form of agricultural land like a grassed paddock for grazing, a wheat field, a corn field, turnips ? beets ? taters etc ? something that would have to be rained on or irrigated to make something grow, thus having moisture ?
