Engines have a natural frequency like all other moving objects and the mounts can cause this if they are loose enough. Mine were.

I can't find any torque spec in my manuals on this so I am not sure what to say. I guess I would just "tighten them up". They are a big rubber compression piece so maybe no actually torque spec exists? Maybe someone else can comment on this. I had it done by my mechanic along with some other work a while back so I haven't tightened them myself.

The only way mounts could cause this is if they are so shot that the engine is sitting down on some part of chassis, and then you would have vibration/noise thruout rpm range, not just 4k. Engine should be rubber mounted so that no part of engine or exhaust is hitting frame/chassis. Mounting bolts loose is not gonna cause problems.
Sure seems like something in engine is out of balance big time.

Let's back way up, when did this vibration start??

Just saying that loose engine mounts made a big difference in mine. Once they were tightened, smoothed right out, quite noticeable.

I was in formed that it is very possible that my vibration problem could be from the fly wheel and clutch pressure plate
Meaning is it possible that they could be out of balance, not put on rite
