well, new magnetic pickup and still no pulse to FI. The magnet on the old one crumbled when I pulled it off. With new pickup, coil and control module, why no pulse from coil or at injectors. When I put a test light to the brown wire coming off the coil I get a pulse as it turns over but once the cold start has kicked in the the car starts it is more of a constant light. Then the car dies. Is this the pulse I am looking for?

Are you sure you put the magnetic base in right side up? It's pretty common to be put in upside down causing the pickup not to work. And did you set the air gap between the trigger and pick up with a non magnetic (brass) feeler gauge?

I just had an FI car in today with a similar problem. The ground side of the injectors has a very faint pulse; the light doesn't completely turn off but a faint pulse is visible when cranking. The car has sat for 2 years and it turned out the injectors were all stuck shut
