FI vapor canister removal
I've searched and really only seen this discussed with carb cars. The line from my intake manifold to vapor canister is broken. I would like to cap off the manifold and tank side and remove all lines and the canister. Are there any adverse effects to doing this in a fuel injected model? Seems like I should be able to just plug them up. Don't want to drive 5 miles from home and have gas stop flowing or rich/lean condition or something weird.

If anyone was curious, it runs fine with the manifold line capped. Left fuel line connected to canister.

Good subject. I have a '76 124 with a '77 1800 motor. Back in the racing days, all we did was to install a fuel cell/repalcing the OEM fuel tank, one line to the electric fuel pump, out to the remote fuel filter, and then out to the carb/s. Race fuel cap had a spill over tube back to the fuel tank/cell, just as the OEM fuel fill set has. Some better fuel cells have a spill/overflow fitting/line that exits any vapors. Add a flip type LaMans style fuel cap with a overfill tube and all is set. I really want to go back to this simple set up as I build my 124. I just can't find a simple manual choke carb where all it wants is One fuel line in! I could run IDF's but the budget says no. If anyone has tried it, I'd like to hear if anyone has blocked off all the vapor lines on these Weber's. thanks!
