Removing Engine gears to get to seals...
Removing Engine gears to get to seals...
I'm going to be replacing the front engine seals when I do my timing belt again. What's the best method to remove the gears to replace the seals. Can I align the timing marks and with the belt still tensioned on and impact gun the pulley nuts loose enough? When I did the belt last time my friend had me hold the cam gear tight to keep from spinning with gloves and he impacted the nut off but the belt was off. What's the better method? Thx.

Re: Removing Engine gears to get to seals...
The manual I have instructs us to slightly loosen the bolts with the belt still attached, but I will defer to those who have done this before for a better methodology.

I break them loose with the belt intact
