I have a chance to pick up a 1400cc engine with the transmission attached and diff. Can I use any of these to bolt up to an 1800cc engine or is the transmission , rear end different. The head on the 1400 will it bolt to the 1800 block ok?

Thanks Mark. Would the differential fit ok in later years without any mods.

I know the length of the drive shaft is different than the 80 as the rear dif is different. Now I can't remember if it is longer or shorter, think shorter as the diff on the older cars are longer at the front. So if you have an older rear diff, you might be wanting to use same year drive shaft.

Good idea with the drive shaft.
