First post...just wanted to say Hello!
I've had a 78 as a project for several years...the time has come to get started.
<Rant On> Thanks to Kalifornia DMV , I'm going to have bond for title out here in Colorado...bought her at a towyard...got the Kal paperwork, BUT, I couldn't even get a title w/o first smogging the project car. No, I don't want to register it...I just want a title while I restore it...whatever...I'm glad that I fled that cesspool. <Rant Off>
Anyway, I'm looking forward to the restoration process and even more forward to driving the Peak to Peak Highway with the top down!
Glad to be here and Thanks for the wealth of information in the archives...I hope to add to it as I go!
Ciao!

Hey-hey-hey Gnocco, those of us who live out here in the cesspool, I mean in California resemble that remark! (I know Mike B., you used that come-back before). Anyway, welcome to the forum, good luck with your project. Could you post pictures: now, and as you proceed?
Re: New member from CO
welcome, but just to echo rlux; one man's cesspool is another mans' koi pond
Re: New member from CO
Yeah, Ron....I resemble that remark!
Fortunately, i have no cesspool laws to live by. instead, i just plowed 12" of snow from my driveway last night.
Spring is a thing that keeps the unibody from hitting the axle........nothing to do with the weather forecast.
anyway, send some pictures....and welcome to the site.

Boy do I know how to make a flaming entrance or what?!
Apologies to those of you still in Kalifornia...no slur intended...after 20+ years in SoCal...I'd had enough...having my truck stolen out of my driveway in Huntington Beach was the last straw. I do miss the ocean, trader joe's, and the curry house restaurant! Oh, and In N Out! and Laguna Seca, hmmm...maybe I'll have to visit!
I still, for the life of me, cannot figure out why DMV would'nt let me have title without a smog check...any ideas?
Anyway, it is great to be on this list and I promise not to flame KA again! Can I brag about our CO real estate prices and awesome microbrews though?

Your intro was taken in the tongue in cheek manner it was intended, rest assured. Personally I am a transplant to So Cal. I have been in construction my whole life, and was out of work back home in Washington State, so I came down here at the urging of my father to work temporarily. That was 29 years ago. California has it's drawbacks (don't get me started) but as a place to own a convertible it has few equals. So, we take the bad with the good.
