Fuel came out brake booster hose?
Fuel came out brake booster hose?
I was trying to see if my brake booster was bad so I disconnecting the brake booster hose from the intake manifold booster port. I attached another hose to the booster port on the intake and plugged it with a vaccuum hose. After I started the car, I noticed no difference, so I pulled that hose off the intake port to reconnect the brake booster hose back up. When I slipped the hose off the the vac port, a little fuel came out. Is that normal?
Re: Fuel came out brake booster hose?
raw fuel laying in the intake is not a good thing, unless it's the 4th of July
Re: Fuel came out brake booster hose?
What would cause this? I'm running an electric fuel pump which is always on when the ignition key is switched on. Unless could it be from condensation, as I haven't used the car for about a week?So Cal Mark wrote:raw fuel laying in the intake is not a good thing, unless it's the 4th of July

Good news I think. I went for a ride about 10-15 minutes on the highway this afternoon and just now I took of the same brake booster hose off the port and no fuel came out. Any ideas what caused the teaspoon amount of "gas" smelling liquid before?

working the throttle with the engine off will cause that or carb flooding

Agree, minor flooding. If it persists then you probably have a bad needle and seat in the carb float bowl, or your kid plays in the car and presses the gas over and over and over.So Cal Mark wrote:working the throttle with the engine off will cause that or carb flooding
