A sarcastic "classy" doesn't quite do it for me, Jim. A straight forward "childish" seems more appropriate.

Ok, back to hockey! Looks like Philly is the only team in the Eastern Conference getting some much needed rest. If Boston and New York both lose their first-round series, the No. 5 Flyers would hold home ice until at least the Stanley Cup finals. Boston looks to be pretty banged up. Rangers have dominated the Flyers this year. Let's go Ottawa! C'mon man!! Philly has not had hoisted Lord Stanley's cup since 1975!
Buon giro a tutti! - enjoy the ride!

Did'n't see the Coyotes taking out Chicago... If Boston is playing golf in a few days, I might have a bit of a better post season. for the canuckle-heads
Interesting how one can break it down from the regular season.. playoffs are about coaching? Prep the team? players grabbing another gear? and goalies becoming stupid hot?
And the Va... comment...get a grip ALL teams have their issues.

They are, and you might 8). Should be a good Game 7 tonite between Ottawa and NY.

Anybody know which was the lowest-seeded team to win the Cup under the new format?

Well thats a bummer eh Bernie.. The regular season all seems for naught. We'll see how the Sens make out tonight. I have a feeling NY will prevail there though.
Without any Canadian teams or even original six in the playoff, other than NY, the TV ratings here drop significantly. Very few of my friends are interested any more in the NHL. We do have a local junior team to root for though, The Penticton V's are about to wrap up the western division (hope tonight) to then go back east for the round robbin format for the Canadian championship. They broke a north american winning streak record this year with something like 42 consecutive wins in the regular season... then lost in the last game of the regular season. The last time they won the Canadian championship Brett Hull, Ray Ferraro, Any Moog were playing here as juniors.
Other than the monsoon like weather we have today, it has been top down the last few weeks.

Loved to see the Bruins eliminated by the Caps! But yah, I agree, interest in the cup has dwindled significantly here too. There's more interest in where Luongo will go. The good news is theres' a lot more time for golf :D Jim

My wifes Grandfather played for the Ottawa Senators when they won the cup (1927). We have the Stanley Cup Ring etc. With the arrival of the heritage jerseys we bought our son one with his great grandfathers name and # (Smith 04) and people actually came up to us and asked if we knew Alex Smith 8) We do not really follow hockey however, ya gotta support the home team and especially family soooooooooooooo GOSENSGO!

That is so cool. I (and pretty well everyone I know) is pulling for the Sens simply because they're Canadian. In BC land we used to say ABC...anybody but Calgary. But now I think that list is growing based on the last 2 cup runs  Jim
