fuel injection issues

Post by grittracing »

OK still having issues with my fuel injection. I have replaced all lines from fire wall to everything else in engine bay. i just rebuilt the dissy. also replace sensor on radiator tee and pig tail. all to no avail. still runs good when running but if i come to a sudden stop the motor will stall out or if i rev the motor under the hood it does the same. when running good idles at 1200 perfectly every time. how ever since i did the 2 repairs it seems to have got worse. any ideas ?

Throttle position sensor out of adjustment? How about the auxiliary air regulator valve? Have you used the fuel injection guide to work through the possibilities? I'd you don't have one I can post a link for it.

This is to a copy of Brad Artique's guide:
Link deleted as I had posted an out of date version. Please download a current version from Brad's site further down this page.

This is another guide for doing diagnostics:

Hope that it helps

Tony,I had similar issues,as did Dantye on this site.I had to replace my AFM,as did he.That diagnostic guide from Brad that Karl posted to you,is fantastic.I would go thru the whole process. You might pm Ron Luxmore, who is my guru on fuel injection.Good luck,Buddy!

Dropbox.com? That copy is so obsolete it has errors in it. It was revised at least twice - never trust those kinds of websites, guys, they crawl other websites and pull files whenever they find them. In this case, a draft of something I wrote in 2001 or earlier.

Download the correct version here:

The ONLY place I maintain the collection of service letters and my own publications is on my own website.

1200 RPM isn't idling, it is running, and probably because your TPS is out of whack. Test every FI sensor and get your idle bypass screw and throttle position screw in the right positions. I explain the procedure: http://www.artigue.com/fiat/tuning-book

My apologies but Dropbox is a cloud storage site which only has files I have put there, it isn't a trolling, warez or other form of scraping site.

My apologies for posting an out of date version, I was posting from my phone so the Dropbox one I had uploaded in the past. I'll try to do better in terms of ensuring the versions are up to date or better find your link directly to post.

Out of curiosity, do you put a most current date or revision on each iteration? I know I have many of your files on my computer at home and just want to ensure I have the most recent versions there as well. One never knows if a hurricane might come by Louisiana and make it difficult to access your excellent work.

I'll delete my link to my out of date version of your file.

All the best

I have always been curious as to when you should adjust this screw. Would it be best to verify once car is warmed up? Will it not effect the idle when cold? Mine currently idles at 800-900 rpms when warmed up however, sounds like it wants to give out when first started

A wireless connection and a tent in the back yard is a solution.
