Distributor question

Hi all, my p.o. told me the dizzy had some play in the bushing so i ordered a new bushing and will be changing it. are there any other parts i should swap while i have it apart? thanks

yes the advance springs
and the seal at the bottom
when you do everything correct people arent sure youve done anything at all (futurama)

I agree about the seal, but not sure the advance-springs should be considered a mandatory change-out. Especially if you're swapping-out for something ubiquitous. The relationship between the weight of the ..er .. weights, and the tension of the springs is what determines when your advance comes-in, and in an extreme-spring tension example: how MUCH advance you'll get.
So the springs and weights need to be matched to provide the right curve.

I guess I'm saying that:
a) they don't wear-out
b) they should be replaced with factory-specific items, or with something paired by someone who understands the curve and can plot it.
I'm no Boy-Racer..... but if I can't take every on-ramp at TWICE the posted limit.... I'm a total failure!
