Rotex Brake Pads???

Post by deadmeat »

Just bought "Premium Ceramic Brake Pads" from IAP. I paid extra for ceramic. They came and they are Rotex Premium brake pads, for sure, but nowhere does the box reference Ceramic. I cannot find RTX online and every other reseller refers to the Rotex line as metallic, although this particular model (Premium) is not listed anywhere I can find. They have Gold, Silver, etc. I suspect I was sold something other than ceramic pads despite their being advertised as such on IAP. Anyone know anything about these. I'd like to get my ducks in a row before I light up their phones.

thanks.

Okay, I got a reply from IAP. The pads are "private label" and it appears the box is somewhat generic. Word on the street is that these pads are made by Centric parts but their customer service department denied knowing anything about that. IAP has a good reputation, so I will trust their word at this point, but it would have been really nice to be able to get a spec. sheet or something on the brakes.

On a different note, the boxes with the pads contained no bedding in instructions. I want to get that part right, does anyone have any idea what the process is with these pads. It seems to vary a bit depending on the pad's composition.

thanks,
