What do you all think? Running poorly

Keep it on topic, it will make it easier to find what you need.

I think I had a revelation while sitting here at work. I dont think I lined up the Aux Cam for the oil pump and distributor correctly, at the time I just thought it was for the oil pump not for the distributor and now that I found the Fiat Timing Belt Replacement helper and the online Chiltons I see what that Aux does exactly and I think it is off one tooth. I will check here in about an hour. Hoping that is it.

I will check alot of these things as soon as I get home in about an hour... Thank you very much for all the advice. I appreciate it and I will post my findings.

Seabee, It is a digital ignition. So no points.

Aux pulley doesn't have anything to do with timing unless you have a dist mounted down under intake.
Bog when you open throttle....usually means lean, BUT if you close choke partially usually improves situation dramaticly. Don't look at your fuel filter. Please. If you wish to know something about the fuel delivery, T in a gauge. Not a bad idea.
Engine also has to get rid of air/fuel, if exhaust is plugged it will not rev and will be very noisy thru carb. Remove header pipe to test, or to be more professional, drill 1/8"hole in exhaust pipe and stick one of those cheapy vacuum pressure gauges on hole, should not show any pressure. Really if exhaust plugged enough that engine bogs in bay, drill 1/8"hole and a jet stream will come out engine revved if ex plugged.

Just wondering majic, what is he suppose to do with the hole (if he drills it ) in the exhaust pipe once he is done ?
that is a very odd way to test something imo but i'm not knocking you just never heard that one before .

I would check to see if the screws that hold the carb together are tight there is about 5 on the top that you can
access also set all the mixture screws check crank and cam timing marks, check compression, run a fuel line
to a plastic coke bottle an see what your flow is like . If its just a small trickle your in trouble a normal amount
of fuel pressure would take a little while to fill up the bottle ( not that you need to fill it up ) but just so you
can see with your own eyes that the fuel pressure is there while the pump is on . I also agree that you have
more then one issue going on at the same time .

About the Aux pulley the engine wouldn't know the difference if it has been timed correctly or not the only reason
this timing procedure is important there is a lobe on the this shaft that can hit the crank causing some bad
damage to the internal parts so just to be on the safe side i would time this as well .

yeah it is pretty weird and not knocking it either but not gonna do it.. I am pretty sure the exhaust flows real good..

Good question about the hole, simple answer, I just run a screw into the hole. THis is a very common practice in the repair business to check for plugging exhaust components. They make nice gauges you can use, but those cheapy round vacuum/pressure gauges work fine.
Got another computer at home with better sound, will try to remember to listen tonight. Good luck.

Keith, very interesting. Pretty cool too.

I am pretty sure it was the carb. I got it running a lot better last night but still need to take the patience and time to fine tune it. She will be revived soon.

So what exactly did you do to get it running better??

Took and turned in the idle mixture screw all the way in then turnede it out 2 full turns. Then I adjusted the Idle speed screw. seemed much better. I will take a new video tonight

Still ave to fine tune it but damn it has been years since I have worked on a carb... at least 15+ years... uuuffff...

i used a vacume gauge on the intake port and tuned the mixture screw until i had 15lb of vacume
then adjusted the idle speed
when you do everything correct people arent sure youve done anything at all (futurama)
