New member from Salt Lake City

Hi, I am Alan, a middle aged Fiat aholic who was almost succesful in kicking the habit. Been Fiat free for about 20 years until I ran across a 1982 Spider for sale at a price is right for me. After I made the deal with the owner, she mentioned as an after thought that this is a turbo spider. I had never heard of a turbo spider. I almost backed out of the deal not knowing anything about them . I bought it and have owned it since 2005. The local mechanic here says this car is probably the only operating turbo spider in Utah.

I can believe that cause there arent many Fiats left here anyway due to the allergic reaction to all that salt we have here!

Anyway, it is good to have found a Fiat bulletin board. Always good to know I am not the only one with a soft spot for these Italian machines. There is nothing like revving up that twin cam and the smell of the car when you open the door. So unmistakeably Fiat!

thanks! that works well but I notice it seems to cut the photo somewhat

the turbo decals arent on the car since it had been repainted from a minor rear ender. I think I have located the decals but she does need some rust repair before I will put those on.

Not sure what that white stuff is ... this was taken in May of 05. this winter has been incredible. I have over 4 feet of that stuff in my yard! Shasta loves to ride in the car with me !

I did meet him years ago, back in the late 70's. He is a lot shorter than I pictured him. I also ran into Marie at a stop light. I pulled up next to a Cadillac and glanced over to the other car and lo and behold it was Marie behind the wheel. she smiled. Too funny. Havent seen any of them lately though.

Hi Alan, I noticed you're in Sandy? I/we just relocated to Draper from Louisiana bringing my 82 Spider with me. I noticed there's an Italian Car show coming up in SLC. I dropped by the last Italian car show last weekend or so in Sandy and it was just Ferrari's and Maserati's from a dealer. Not nearly what I expected. I'm hoping the one in SLC is a lot better.
