Gas Smell
Thought I'd pass this along.....I've been fighting this issue for some time now but recently it's gotten much worse. In poking around I found that the smell was strongest around the rubber filler hose to the gas tank. I had replaced this hose a couple of years ago so I was kind of surprised this was happening. Well, it turns out the replacement hose I got from one of our vendors was not resistant to the new fuels that contain ethanol. Found a hose at NAPA (part number 1047) that is ethanol resistant and with just a little trimming, fits the Spider perfectly. Installed it a couple of days ago and now, no more gas smell in the garage in the morning.

Re: Gas Smell
Did you see any evidence of leaking? I've got the same problem.

Re: Gas Smell
I replaced mine with a Gates #24717 back in Nov 2009 and have not had any issues with it. Had to trim it to length.

Bernie.
No evidence of leaking at all, just a bad smell around the hose. Also it was very soft and "punky" which I attribute to the ethanol getting to it from the inside.
